The right way to BE UNIQUE

Universal

We write everything in small letters, as we save time.
Also: why 2 alphabets, if one achieves the same? why capitalize, if you can’t speak big?

Herbert Bayer (1900 – 1985)

Anima Linotype

Anima Linotype

Visible from the outside due to the subtle transparency of the acetate and made to an exclusive Good’s design, it reproduces - with an engraved inscription - the right way to look at things developed from right to left, like the lead lines produced by the traditional Linotype typographic machine, invented in 1886 and defined by Thomas Edison as The Eighth Wonder of the World.

Inspiration

the model is inspired by the Universal Font designed by Herbert Bayer in 1925, commissioned by Walter Gropius, was to be used for all official Bauhaus communications.

Following the functionalist approach, Bayer designed an “idealist font”, called the Universal Font, a geometric sans-serif that not only lacked graces, but also did not have any capital letters.

Personality

The Universal model is aimed at people with an essential and refined character, reflecting an approach that favours simplicity and minimal elegance. His or her personality is characterised by a sense of balance and harmony, preferring clean, unadorned solutions that make his or her style distinctive and recognisable. A person who appreciates clarity and concreteness, always seeking a recognisable style through refined simplicity.

Description

Biocetate: the frame is in Mazzucchelli M49 bioacetate, 100% recyclable and biodegradable, without chemical agglomerates to avoid allergic reactions and its natural origin is also revealed to the touch with a pleasant “warm and silky effect”.

Frame front: the front remains faithful to the stylistic design of the font, taking on an international, objective and timeless appearance, simplifying the form to the benefit of readability, removing subjective and ornamental features.

Temples: the sail-style temples owe their name to the shape that resembles a rudder tiller. The earpiece temple tip is pierced with an “O” inspired by Good’s logo.

Hinge: the exclusive hinge created by Good’s, inspired by the UPN metal beams used in architecture, completely crosses the acetate nose, serves as a decorative frieze on the front, and is anchored with two side screws that allow greater stability and easy replacement.
