Bottone A

You could become an archangel, a madman, or a criminal, and no one would notice. But if you lose a button, everyone notices right away.

Anima ditale

Inspired by the world of tailoring, the steel core decoration is crafted using an exclusive Good's design and reproduces the small dimples of a traditional metal thimble. These dimples create grip points for the needle tip, ensuring it doesn't bend or slip when pushing through thick fabrics.

Inspiration

The Bottone A model is inspired by the button, whose history begins in prehistoric times, specifically in the Bronze Age, and continues to this day. The history of buttons reflects the changes in society and fashion over the centuries: initially, they had a purely ornamental function (16th century), then they also took on the function of opening and closing two pieces of fabric (18th century), and later became an element of status and beauty, playing a significant role in the history of fashion.

Description

Bioacetate: the frame is made of Mazzucchelli M49 bioacetate, 100% recyclable and biodegradable, free of chemical agglomerates to reduce the risk of allergic reactions. Its natural origins are also evident to the touch, with a pleasantly warm and silky feel.

Front: the minimalist design that evokes the shape of a circular button. A thin acetate eye is embedded in the extremely thin circular steel frame—available in two different colors, silver and gold. The opaline top interacts with the translucent base in an interesting trompe l’oeil effect that lightens the frame’s perceived weight and gives it a distinctive luminosity.

Temple: the “tie” model features a metal front with a thimble decoration, while the acetate temple tips coordinate with the front and recall the shape of a tie. The temple tips feature the perforated “o” from the Good’s logo.

Curiosity

Men’s and women’s shirts have different buttoning: men’s on the right, women’s on the left. The reason for this difference lies in 13th-century culture, when only the noble and wealthy could afford to have clothes made and worn with buttons. Noblewomen had servants to help them dress, so buttoning on the left made it easier for the servants; men, on the other hand, dressed themselves, and buttons on the right were more comfortable.
